What was done to your rig this week?

Got the headers back from the Cerakote shop, and the guys installed Wilwood electric E brakes. I had one of those Estop brake systems which worked great until the long-arm suspension. The cables had to be so long there was too much slack for the Estop tensioner to pull enough to set the brakes. Still a very good system if anyone is considering it. We went electric because of the cable slack.
Here's some pictures of the headers.

Took the jeep for a test drive today; seems to breathe a little easier with the bigger headers, and the Borla mufflers improved the sound. The other goal of the new headers was to decrease the heat radiating through the firewall and floor boards - and stop melting the soles of my wife's shoes (The main selling point). The OAT was 55° today, and the drive was short - so not an accurate test, but new headers are larger tubes, have more clearance from the firewall and floor boards, and are Cerakoted - all of those should help with the heat.

I tried out the new parking brakes - they worked great. I managed to get a couple pictures.

200 mile test drive. Good time to test out the Rancho 9000s. Setting 3 with the bed empty seems to be the sweet spot.

How is the ride ? Noticeable difference?

So I don't drive this thing much. When I installed the shocks, I put the knob on setting 5. A few days later, I drove it forgetting that I had put the new shocks on it and noticed it was stiffer over rough roads and bumps. At that time I realized that it had to be the new shocks. So I moved it down to 3 and 4 for a couple of test drives to play around with it. Surprisingly, each knob setting is noticeable. I left it on 3 because it felt perfect. Driving it today for about 4-5 hours confirmed that. I can't really say that it's better than stock but it feels different. Not in a bad way, just different. I'm anxious to raise the setting the next time I put something in the bed to really test them out.

We have a 4 door JL Rubicon and run the 9000s on 1 most of the time and go up to 5 when we are loaded down.

I finally go around to rekeying my half doors so I can use my OE key. With the electric locks it wasn’t really necessary, but OCD eventually got the better of me.

Noted. I was happy with them on my JK.

Finally got around to installing the EVO high clearance long arm kit on my rig. Highly recommend if you are running coilovers.

How much lift height are you running? And how many hours do you think the install took you?

I’m around 3.5” in lift height. I did the install solo, I used a plasma cutter so that really made things easier. The front took 1 grinding wheel and 5 hrs. The rear took 2 grinding wheels to make everything really clean and right at 6 hrs to complete. Some final adjustments at the very end after driving with adjusting the coilovers, all in all it was a 12hr Job for me to complete. It wasn’t really that bad, I was dreading the rear but it went really smooth. The difference is amazing. No more limit straps and these coilovers are designed for the longarm. After installing the arms I determined the coilovers kit should be sold with the long arms. It’s like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the jelly if ya know what I mean. [emoji4]

This was the front only before I did the rear.
