Wheeling w/ Whiskey - JTR Build Thread

Thank you again everyone, super excited to get up there and pick it up! More pics coming soon and a few mods being ordered this week!

Late update here, apologies! We picked up our Gladiator on 10/7/2021, and made a straight shot back down to Reno from Nampa.

Haven't done much as of yet, been pretty busy with work (holiday season prep). But, here is what I've added so far: 67 Designs Phone Mount, Mopar Grab Handles and Ceramic Window Tint. We will be having our bed protected by Line-X next week and then will begin the hunt for which bed rack system will best serve our needs.

Until then.. yesterday we ordered EVO's 2.5" Enforcer Stage 1 Kit. We are ready to get this rig on 37's... or 38's (can't decide, yet) for Winter Exploring!

More to come... here are a few shots from the day we picked up and washing on the return. thumbnail_IMG_0399.jpgthumbnail_IMG_0400.jpgthumbnail_IMG_0504.jpgthumbnail_IMG_0505.jpg

Already a big fan of the oil burner! Suits the Gladiator platform well. Excited to see how it handles larger tires.
You’ll love it. I never noticed the difference to 37s. The only other motor I wish they would have put in the JT would have been the 2.0 turbo. Beastly little fella. I do love my diesel so far.

Realizing I’ve been distracted and delayed in sharing.. but, in the name of distraction here is a pic of my rig parked outside of work this week with some late winter storms.

I completed the EVO Enforcer install (still waiting on rear shocks from accutune) and installed the Rebel rack.

Next Mods: bumper winch and sliders.

Question for anyone experienced on the subject:
I opt’d for both the front and rear EVO heavy duty adjustable track-bar’s w/ my enforcer kit.

After installing the kit, occasionally I would hear metal on metal contact when the vehicle weight shifts.. after some inspection, I finally found the source.

My front track bar will clock different directions at the frame side, based on the vehicle weight/orientation.. and the track bar itself hits the frame bracket. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, did you find a solve that didn’t involve grinding the frame bracket down due to the size of the track bar itself?

Thanks in advance!

I know the evo track bar had issues early on with the joints. Not sure if they ever fixed it but people were having all kinds of issues and soon after install (within a few thousand miles). Again, not sure if they fixed those issues and if that is even your issue, just throwing it out there.

Ahh, that makes sense; I was wondering if the level of play in the joint was normal or not. So, this could indicate that the joint has failed?

I spoke to EVO (I think Mel Jr.) and he indicated that it may be the joint or I may just need to grind down the bracket (trying to avoid this if possible, as I’m no expert at grinding).

I’ll search around and see how I can troubleshoot the joint itself.

I ran into a similar issue when I had the eco track bar. After some hard wheeling in Moab and only around 4 thousand on it; the bushing on the frame side went out. The excess play allowed it to contact the upper track bar mount, made the steering very sloppy and threw the steering wheel off center. Ultimately EVO overnighted me a new bushing free which solved all of these problems.

But from what you described the joint may still be good. It’s probably just a tolerance issue between the track bar and track bar mount. I would still drop the track bar anyway and inspect the joint, if you can easily move it around and there is play in it. Then it may be time to replace it.

How much lift did you net?
forgive me if you said previously, but are the front springs diesel specific?
