A Serious Question - At the beginning of your WAYALIFE...

I agree with this as well. I would have gotten a used rubicon in a heartbeat, if I had been looking at jeeps before the new 3.6 came out. I was sold on the new motor, and a 12' JKU was all I could afford. If I could do back, I'd tell myself to wait a little longer and save for a rubi. My JKU is still stock though, so I might trade for a rubi before starting my build.

OH!!! I would have listened to people about buying extended warranties. I've heard a lot of horror stories from guys dealing with dealerships, and I'm sure I'll be vaoiding my warranty soon. At least I should still be getting my oil changes for free.

I hear ya, I got warranty and was thinking of selling it back. They will prorate the portion not used.

I wish I would have learned hypnosis. That way it would be much easier to get approval from the better half on all the really expensive sh1t I want to buy.

Also like someone else said, I wish I were a better welder.

I just get the "Why did the UPS man drop off another heavy box? You know we need to talk about this stuff first!!!" .... to which I always reply, "Sorry, last one, I promise dear."

My only wish would have been, if l had found this Wayalife Forum before i started all my mods or bought one long ago when l was younger. Other than that i cannot complain, l have a awesome wife that sees the joy and passion l have for our Jeep.

They key to success is making the mods her idea. This way when she says we need to this it is a win for you. Really simple process. Take her to a couple of Jeep events and let her see first hand so really cool jeeps and then you say we can make ours just as cool. Worked for me to get my LOD bumpers and sliders along with a OR Fab sportcage and Warne Xeon 8 winch with synthetic. Patience will pay in this area.

1. I wish I knew I couldn't fit an ARB locker in a rubicon Dana 44 with axle sleeves installed.

2. I wish I would've saved the extra cash for the EVO tire carrier instead of buying the teraflex HD carrier.

I'm still pretty new to this but I am with a lot of others in that I wish I knew more about the ins and outs of the Jeeps and how to work on them. Hell, I honestly wish I knew how to work on automotives in general. I want to eventually go to a UTI or Lincoln Tech type school on the side just for the know hows. I want to be able to build a car, Jeep, motorcycle or whatever from scratch. I'd love to know how to weld and at least the
basics of metal fabrication. To me it sucks that our education system and what we are pressured to do doesn't involve the practical hands on knowledge that can really help you and be applied to your everyday. Nice thread topic btw

I'm with several others that have posted - I wish I could have known that I would enjoy this Jeep as much as I do. I have never not had a truck so didn't know how I would get a long with a Jeep for those times other than wheeling?

After a short 3 weeks of ownership, I still LOVE my Mojave but wish I would have looked harder for a Rubi. Oh well, already have a plan in place for that as well so I'll cut my teeth, so to speak, on the Mojave - save some money - and look to trade for a low mileage mall crawler 10a in a couple years....:thumb:

I wish I would have listened to my salesman 3 months after buying my 2011 with the 3.8 for the 2012 with 3.6
I thought he was trying to run some kind of game to make more money so I stayed with my 11.

Wish I would have done my belt driven York oba years ago instead of wasting time and $ on electric compressors.

I'm surprised that so many wish they had a Rubi.

IMO the upcharge for the Rubi is money wasted. Use that money to make the Jeep the way you want it, not the way Jeep makes it.
Are the Rubi lockers good? great? so-so? Can you rebuild them if needed? Are 4.10 gears deep enough or will you need to regear anyway?
How tough is it to quick disconnect your sway bar?

Your opinion and mileage may vary of course.

Don't forget about the D44 and the 4:1 T-Case.

How to weld...well. I need to learn how to weld correctly and not from watching YouTube, or from the intertron (net). For the money I pay someone else to fab or install, I could buy tools of my own and build at home for the rest of my life.

Welding... Really high on the todo list. Just hard to find night classes in my area.
