The building of knuckles

I need to get my rear armor repowdercoated (long story). Started the process of getting all the carrier parts off so I could pull the panels, drop them off and be without my DD for as little time as possible. So I came up with an inexpensive way to mount the license plate...total cost was well under $10.

Two of these.

Couple of bolts and some 3M double sided tape for good measure.

Wife has a hard time with the carrier so I might keep it like this for a while so she can drive it more.

Yeah, and there is no way "Big Pimping" only spent $10 on that license plate bracket. I'm thinking easily
$32.50 for something of that level of quality.

Medium pimping at best. :cheesy: If it cost that much I would have bought the EVO plate like I was about to anyway. That said, I think we can all agree that there is zero chance of me quitting my day job and becoming a fabricator. :cheesy:

Here is the problem, well, part of it anyway.

The powdercoater didn't prep the edge correctly and it is peeling off. The shop has a new owner making it even more complicated. Regardless they are making it right.

I tried to send a PM but your mailbox is full. So, I love the white rear corners. EVO will be building mine in about 2 months. I saw all the rust on them. Also I noticed the bolts looked like rust was coming from them. Any reason why you think they are rusting like that? Living in the NorthWest I totally worry about rust. Any regrets going with the white corners? Thanks for the help.

Inbox has room now. No regrets going white. Love the look. It was a bad prep job that's all. No big deal. It's been like that for a while now actually. Just got around to fixing it.

That said, one consideration is how you touch them up. Black powdercoating is easy to touch up and can be done at home in minutes. White? Not so much. If I were to do it again I'd probably paint them myself. But since they are doing it at cost I'll just powdercoat them again. It's not a perfect match but close enough. I'm not sure what ORE did on that recent build they did (paint or powdercoat).
