Top heavy feeling w/Plush Rides?

After driving a few friends JKU's with different kits I have noticed a bit of a top heavy feeling/tossed around feeling when going over bumps and cornering. Curious if this is just the way the EVO coils ride since they are a softer coil, or if my Fox 2.0 shocks are not a good pair for the EVO coils? I don't have any bounce when going over bumps, so I assume the shocks are controlling that, but not sure about the top heavy feeling. Looking for some advice before dropping $$$ on new shocks. Tire pressure is 28-30, and I have the EVO DL flip kit. Thanks

I cant speak for your set up, but my rig doesnt feel "top heavy". Im running the plush rides w rancho 9k's. I think they set on 4 so, kinda twords the middle. But honestly being a soft coil, they are a tad soft going around corners but i never feel like its top heavy.

Thanks. Maybe top heavy isn't the right description. Sways in corners and kinda tossed back and forth feeling over bumps.

What size lift are you sitting at? My RK 3.5" lift felt a little flighty for a bit. I added adjustable front lower control arms and it took care of that feeling overnight.

Did they raise the front track bar & do a drag link flip? My first go around this was not done and flighty is how I'd explain the handling.
Adjusting LCA's like Mike said above helps too.
Also, tire pressures affect handling more than you think. I was running 34 but have mine all the way down to 26. Makes a difference.
The tire doesn't follow nuances in the pavement as much

Just to clarify, it is not flighty. I have adjustable front lowers. And yes, I have the track bar bracket with drag link flip. Coils are 3". Feels more like shocks not dampening enough when cornering and going over bumps. Might just be a characteristic of a softer coil. Not a bad feeling, just different than friends with other kits.

I have the same coils and shocks as u, only I have 4" plush rides. My jk does have a lean feel when cornering. I would think it's just from the coils, because I also have an anti rock up front which gives quite a bit of body roll.

I mis-read your original post. Thought you were describing your FRIENDS Jeeps handling characteristics, not yours. Sorry!

i ran into the same feeling when i installed the plush rides, also check your sway bar link length.

I lengthened the sway bar links to make the sway bar more level to the ground then i adjusted the shocks, handles much better now :thumb:

Really? Not being argumentative, but how would that make a difference? I wouldn't think that would matter....

What kits were on the other vehicles you drove?

Its all a trade off. Soft riding springs are going to yield more body roll in heavy curves. Just a matter of what type of ride you like.

One was 3" TF with TF tuned Fox shocks. The other was 2.5 MC with OME shocks. The TF was the stiffest, and the MC was in the middle with EVO being the softest.

That's sounds right to me. I think it is probably just the spring rate as has already been said.

I run the enforcer kit with 4" plush rides and the Kings 2.5 w/DL flip. No such issues.

Edit: just saw another post answer a few questions.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I figured it was just the way a softer spring rides, but was curious if a stiffer shock would make a difference. Sounds like the Kings might.

You could give EVO mfg a call. They may be able to give you some shock options to help balance out your ride.

The Kings sold through ORE are custom tuned for the plush rides. It's not just because they are King shocks. I also know some have paired the adjustable Rancho shocks and found some success.

i should have said make sure the sway bar angle is in spec... i replaced my original coils with 4" Plush and they were taller than i expected. the extra height was enough to put the sway bar angle out of spec (too low, softer...higher firmer (insert bad jokes here)), once i got it back into spec the body roll got back under control and then i adjusted the shocks to fine tune it all. i also had to adjust the rear link length.

i need to recheck droop and see if there's any room for adjustment, last trip out driver side link inverted. i know this is an issue with the rubicon e-disconnect but i still have a little room too raise it.
