We also came across this bridge. I wasn't very confident in the bridges strength since it looked like it was wide enough for an ATV/UTV. I stopped crossing when I heard a "crack" from one of the boards. I didn't get as centered as I wanted to either obviously.

So we took a trip out there yesterday. I could not find any of the landmarks you went to. It was still a nice drive though. We loved it. We spent about 3 hours exploring. I forgot to fill up before we got into the park so once the dash read "lo" we made our way out which was about 5 miles in. We plan to go back in a few weeks...maybe go as a group if any of the Texas people wanna tag along.

It's beautiful there. Easy to get lost in the forest trails so make sure you bring a map of the area. I had to back track numerous times to get to these locations.

you know you can log onto the forest service website and pick up a pdf file of the mvum not only for here but also for Sabine N.F. as well as Davey Crockett N.F. as all 3 are pretty much connected in this general area .. 69 runs down between Angelina and Davey while Sabine is up a bit more N.E. of Angelina ...... there are a few good dispersed camping spots in all 3 as well as quite a few hiking trails if you want to get out and on foot to see the sights even less seen ....... only thing I've found is that most of the forest roads are dead ends would love if they looped a few into some others to make some decent loops instead of down and back on the same route ..
