Rocks got into my rubi sliders as well. These don't sit right up against the body. But these probably aren't the ones for you if you are that worried about it. Go with LOD.
You can touch up the top but you can't touch up the back side (side closest to the jeep) but you shouldn't have to. If it's not getting used the paint won't chip.
Myself and others have painted the sliders while on the jeep. Just because they are weld on doesn't mean you can't paint them.
Locker will get you into mor trouble not less. With lockers you will think you can do more and thus end up worse off.

You have to cut some stuff off for the EVO but not the same as the PS.
4.88's would be best with the 3.8L turd under the hood.

Teraflex. It's too tall and rides hard on a two door. I think on a four door they are softer.
Here is 35's with 4.5" lift and trimmed fenders.
Use the metal latch that the door hooks to on the tub.
