Notes / Rationale on my wheel and tire choice: The below link is a comparison between a Rim & Tire Size Calculator. Custom Offsets - Wheel-Size.com Sahara stock spec vs Rubicon (285/70/17) and my eventual setup (17x8 +30 wheels with 34.5x11.5/R17) The scrub radius of my setup is the same as a...

Gray Wolf - The low key, stealthy overlander

Before Lift: After Lift: Regear Experience Log Noise and stiff gears First 150-ish kms, the rear had a radio static-like noise (likely due to new gear stiffness) and when decelerating/coasting with foot off the pedal there was a mild aircraft engine like a whistle At 250kms, it got much...

Gray Wolf - The low key, stealthy overlander

Netted about 3"-3.2" lift with the spring+spacer+shocks. It will settle a bit and eventually be around 2.5"?? I thought it was a lot of lift for the 33s that I have.. but I gotta admit the look is growing on me. Ride is fantastic. I used to feel that the stock suspension was squishy and leaned...

Gray Wolf - The low key, stealthy overlander

If it's just a feeling then it's something to get over. If for reals it suffers from higher CG and not offset by the crap ton of camping gear in the trunk then id have to be extra careful. I don't know how to measure this to test the limits though. 😃

Gray Wolf - The low key, stealthy overlander

From weekend camping trip. This was the first time driving in proper off-road conditions with the tent on. Wind noise was ok and bearable.. What concerned me the most was this floaty squishy feeling when articulating over bogs and obstacles with one tire up. May be it's in my head..i felt as if...

Hi Folks I have been collecting some info on the available options of AT and Hybrid/RT tires that are lightweight 35s with skinny/narrow profiles. My rig is a Sahara and hence this info is useful for anyone on Sport/Willis/Sahara and want to squeeze the best out of the M186 front axle without...

Gray Wolf - The low key, stealthy overlander

Its looks stock and well integrated.. The switches are tactile, have night backlighting but I sometimes worry if they are durable.. it feels a bit thin when pressed and I have been babying it to not wear them out soon. The functionality is terrific. The left side switches are connected to...
