When installing Ball Joints, apply anti-seize to BJ or going in Dry?

It's all good Eddie I'm pissed off at the world today for some reason, sorry about that. Anyways that severed bolt looks no bueno on the AI BJDs. It looks like a failure in the casting process, it shouldn't have severed at 45lbs. The final torque spec is 65lbs once the weight of the vehicle is...

When installing Ball Joints, apply anti-seize to BJ or going in Dry?

We'll see how they hold up I only have a few thousand miles on them. What was your experience?

When installing Ball Joints, apply anti-seize to BJ or going in Dry?

Look, use anti-seize or don't use anti-seize it probably won't make a difference if you get your press right. I'm not in a dick measuring competition with any of you and I'm not going to die on this hill. This is what I hate about forums, you try to be helpful and give an opinion and the gang...

When installing Ball Joints, apply anti-seize to BJ or going in Dry?

Your probably safe to use it, all the mechanics I know do not when I asked them about it several years ago before I gave my first BJ lol. The thing is your C is only good for so many BJ's before you've essentially worn it out. Putting some lube in the hole on an axle that's getting loose from...

    Re-Gearing

I would agree with what he said, I kind of just jumped into the solution without reading your initial post. 315 70 R17's depending on manufacture are slightly larger than 34'' tires. The 4.10 gear ratio should be sufficient, they are just barely larger than the 33'' tires that come standard with...

When installing Ball Joints, apply anti-seize to BJ or going in Dry?

Ball joints are a press fitting, no need to apply anti-seize. Clean the C fitting out first with some very fine grit sandpaper or emery cloth before pressing the new ones in. You want to do this softly, so you do not gouge the metal. I also hit it with brakleen, let it evaporate and then wipe it...

    Re-Gearing

Your options with the carrier on the JLUR are 4.88s or 5.13's. 4.88's are totally fine to handle up to 37's and you will get 8th gear back (I did Yukons, they have a complete kit). If you think you're going to go larger then 37s you might want to look at 5.13s but you will lose some fuel...

Tails from the Garage...JK swaybar adventure story.

So I'm finally cleaned up after being covered in grease and I wanted to share my story. I bought a used 2007 JK 2D Rubicon and I did the noob thing of not verifying the lockers and sway-bar worked before the purchase. Luckily the lockers work, the sway-bar disconnect on the other and did...

Group 94R Battery and Tray Question

Hi guys. My 2018 JLUR did not come with the Tow Package and Group 94R battery, just the standard Odyssey Battery 48-720 would be the direct fitment. However, I do a lot of Jeep camping and I run a lot of stuff off of my battery (dometic fridge, charge done batteries etc) and want to go with a...

    Diff Skid Plates? Recommendations?

I've been looking at these ones myself. With a JLUR I think I need the M210, M220. They have a set of skids for the lower control arm (lower shock mounts) as well that look promising. Will probably do the EVO skid sets that Eddie has a video on for the remaining armor to protect the cooling lines.

Random Internet Shit you've come across

I ended up getting the first dose of the vax and getting hospitalized shortly afterwards with severe chest pain. My Dr. recommended I do not get any further doses. Then came Biden's military vax mandate which in turn ended my career because I had to refuse it.

    Diff Skid Plates? Recommendations?

Thanks Eddie, sounds like an opportunity to use my new Dewalt Grinder. Maybe I just need to embrace the red, the BBK I have coming has red calibers. My concern has been that drain plug as well.

    Diff Skid Plates? Recommendations?

Thinking about running some diff skids plates on my 2018 JLU. I was looking at the rough country, MC, and Rancho. The RC seems to be a good value for what they are and they are "black" which my entire jeep is. The Rancho's look good but are kind of weird looking and "red" (nothing a can of...
