CB install video

Ok, you guys were asking for some more details on how I put my CB in the middle console. Here you go:

https://youtu.be/pO4U7RvLyzU

Only thing I'd still like to do on it is put a little ring around the male end coming out in the console so it looks a little more finished and possible secure the 90deg elbow right there so there's a little less wiggle to it. Those are minor cosmetic things though, so they're on the backburner for a rainy day.

Let me know if you have questions!

Inspired by WJCO, I washed Scout down today. Looks awesome. Felt great to get it clean.

The JCR bumper looks great! I have their rock sliders and I love them. I get all my parts from Trail Jeeps too, they are a great shop.

Will it work?

A few weeks back I posted a thread asking what a certain sound was I was experiencing while driving. Dealer couldn't figure out what it was so I just started duct taping anything that could move or vibrate on the front of the Jeep. Figured out it was the roof rack which I was sure it wasn't because it had never made that sound before. Well, thinking back on it, I'm pretty sure the shop that changed my oil fiddled with it trying to reduce wind noise and made it worse.

So, after fiddling with it for a long time and trying lots of different configurations, here is my latest brain child.

Think it will work?

It came in a 10' piece so I've zip tied the rest back along the rack so I can return it if it doesn't help.

Maybe. Aftermarket wind noises are tricky. Trial and error as far as fixing them. I get new noises every time I move stuff around on my roof rack.

Beautiful jeep man! That rack looks great on there. I may have to copy some of your little tricks, like the leatherman idea.

It totally worked! (see post #33) So glad to be able to drive above 40mph without terrible noise again.

Here are some better shots of the insert all trimmed up.
