I just read through most of this thread, and didn't see who you ordered your Kings through. Just a little personal experience,, I also streached my rear axle back about 2",, I also took the front out about 3". I ordered my coilovers directly from King (as they are 20 min from my house) and they were way over sprung, and valved completely wrong!!! This mistake was made after extensive conversations with KING about the weight and use of my jeep. If you ordered from king,, you may have issues with their settings and springs. If you ordered through ORE or REBEL,, I think the shocks will be closer to what you will need, valving and spring wise. Good luck!!!:beer:

thanks for the heads up, I ended up ordering from filthy motorsports, my buddy thats working on my jeep recommended them but I really hope they got the valving correct, the spring rate seemed a bit soft though, they placed 150/200. I could always play around with spring rates, but now that you mention it i am abit worried about the valving, as soon as its on the ground i'll post on the results :fingerscrossed:

now to figure out how to mount the coilovers :thinking: due to the track bar it looks like we wont be able to mount them far back enough through the tub to clear it and might loose the rear seat. :hmm: .. thats not something I'd like to do :icon_crazy:
we'll be working on it some more next weekend and see what we come up with. I really wish EVO sold a stretch kit to have all the guess work out of it. lol, and to run that sexy tower. :yup:

Man this thing is looking sick!! I cant wait to see it done. I guess we will have to wait a week to see more.

It's looking good! As I have found out, there are a lot of obstacles to stretching the rear. Gen Right makes a nice bracket that you can French into the frame, image.jpg depending on the length of your Coilover you might have to go into the tub a little bit though. But they also make a metal cover to seal off the outside. Good luck! I'll be watching you progress.:thumb::beer:

I mounted mine inside the frame. Cut a big hole in the tub and welded up a shock tower frame(not me,, my fab guy). It was far back enough that I can still put my rear seat in,,, when I don't have my spare in the tub.

How far back did you stretch it? And did you move the front forward? That tower looks heavy duty! Nice work.:thumb:

Yes,, front went forward 3",, Back was pushed out 2". The rear shock tower is seriously heavy duty and is tied into the rear 2 cross members. The coilovers come up right where we cut out the rear coil upper perches.

thanks for the pics RDE2ROK !:thumb: ive been talking it over with my buddy and it seems this is the route were going to be taking, its going to lag the estimated finish time waiting for the mounts but seems like the better route to take for the project.

no joke, talk about heavy duty, looks sturdy as hell! :beer: what about the front big dr? what type of mods did you have to do for that 3'' stretch?

Quick update. We ended up going back to the original plan and going through the tub. I've been out of town and haven't seen the progress in person but my buddy is keeping me updated with some pics I thought I'd share.
