I was thinking about color matching my Sports cage stone white too, but it would not last with the red dirt in Hawaii and it would look bad fast! But yours looks killer! I like it. I think the Rock Hard cages look the best out of the bolt in's.

The Rock Hard is a much easier install IMHO.

fair enough - it really is MUCH easier. :D

seriously, i like the finished look of the OR-FAB but, after installing one, i really feel hard pressed to do it again on purpose.

Easier than the OR-FAB for a JK? Have you installed an OR-FAB for the JK? Curious as that's the direction I'm leaning.

oh yeah, much easier than an OR-FAB and i have installed both before. the fitment of the rock hard around the dash was just okay on my old 07 and was hoping they had made some improvements for the 11-up but, apparently, they haven't. still, we'll probably go with it for rubicat.

I had a body shop paint mine. Figure I'll throw a coat of wax on it just like the outside. It should make for easy cleaning.

Not to speak for him, but he installed his OR-FAB cage in his JK. We discussed the install last night, the Rockhard is MUCH MUCH easier. :cheesy:

OK cool, I had heard from someone else local that the OR-FAB wasn't a terrible install and the fitment was pretty good which is why I ask. But they haven't installed a Rockhard for comparison either :).

I installed the OR-Fab, with the floor kit, in my '09 JKU. Cutting the metal fins on the sides of the inner dash was a major PITA. Looking at the inner dash on the 2012, however, I'm not sure you would have to make the same cuts. The plastic trim work also takes some effort if you want it to look nice. Overall, I was very happy with the cage and the way it looked. But the install takes a lot more effort than the Rock Hard, especially if you want it to look nice.

Hopefully MTG won't mind, but here are a few pics of what I mean regarding the plastic trim

Where's a moderator when you need one! :cheesy:

This is why I'm glad I have Sharkey helping me.

My original plan for a "cage" was to just tape some PVC pipe together, bedline it and see if anyone on JKX noticed. :cheesy:

Alright...

Cage completely in now (back section).

I had purchased the roll cage padding not knowing what it would look like. I like the bare metal, but this looks even better (bad
Garage photo and the dirty dog shades makes it hard to see)

Look! No more torn boot.

Switches in.

For this trip I opted to drop the "invisi-line" for something a little more traditional. :cheesy:

Probably a few more things done that I can't think of right now.

HUGE thank you to Sharkey for helping me get this done. Sorry you can't make the trip buddy!

They are made by Delta. Wired into existing 3rd brake light inside the rear cargo area.
