Would be interested in what you did to the Poison Spider trail. Looks like a lot of passion to keep things open for all. Great pics!

Thanks RCCRWLR,

In a nut shell, we teamed up with Utah BLM, Treadlightly!, Quadratec and a few other 4x4 enthusiast volunteers to do some trail restoration on the Poison Spider Trail. We put up some fences and re-vegetated some areas that are not part of the Poison Spider Mesa trail. Our combined efforts hope to help keep these areas open for everyone's use (motorized AND non motorized). Over the years it seems the trail has become wider and wider and there are a few areas where visitors have been venturing off the main trail and creating off shoots. Environmentalists keep a close eye on things like this and when they see damage to the vegetation or unnecessary widening of the trail they document these areas and use them examples to build their case against human use and push harder to shut the entire area down.

For our tail restoration project we put up a cable fence at the Little Arch. Most people respect this area but some people have choose to drive off the trail and park down at or on the arch. In the process they have damaged some of the vegetation at the arch. The fence we built has two open passages for foot traffic only.

We also put up some fences in two other areas, one fence was installed to block a wash that is not part of the trail and we also put up some fences to re-direct vehicular traffic from a sandy area that has been getting wider and wider every year.

What year Cherokee is that?

The white one is a 1999 and the Anvil/grey one is a 2000.

That anvil grey xj is the nicest xj ive ever seen.

Yeah, its one of the nicest I've seen too. It was just finished before EJS. It was built by one of the guys here as a father/son project for the son's first vehicle (lucky kid hu?). It has JK Rubicon Axles under it and the roof rack was custom fabricated by one of the salesman that works here. It also has a Rockhard roll cage, Notch fenders, OR Fab bumpers, SmittyBilt winch and Factor 55 winch accessories. The suspension includes parts from a few different companies (Synergy, Deaver, Poly Performance, I may be missing a few others). Lights are from Ridged Industries. The owner had an upholstery guy make custom bags for the spare tire and tool bags that fit in the roof rack. The jeep started out white and obviously was painted to pull the entire thing together and modernize it with the Anvil Grey color.

Edit: Oh and, the antler was a temporary Moab joke- - I mean custom addition installed by friends.

Here's a few more pics.. Wheels are the Level 8 Pro Bully (should be released in 2-3 months), tires are ProComp Extreme AT's.

I noticed that one of the JKs was running the new Wild Peak MT. How did they perform?

They did great. They stuck to the slick rock like a lizard and handled very well on the highway between phoenix and Moab. We'll have a full review posted when we get closer to having them available for consumer purchase.
