Moab for a full day?

My wife and I are taking a road trip to Tucson, AZ. Visiting family along the way. We were thinking about spending a day in Moab on the way back.

If you were spending a full day there and had a pair of stock Rubicons (one 2 door, one 4 door) what trail or trails would you do? Best view? Best experience?

Remember we still need to drive our stock rigs 1000 miles home afterwards.

How about camping or hotel options? We plan to pull in the afternoon before sleep, spend the next day out wheelin', then spend the night again before heading home.

Linebacker

Caught the Bug
Went to visit family in Phx last April and decided to swing thru Moab on the return trip home to Colorado. We ran Fins & Things and Gemini Bridges. Fins is beautiful and rated difficult, but our stone stock JKUR made it with little difficulty. The skid plate got new dings, but no big deal. We did use the rear locker a few times just to be on the safe side. Tire pressure was let down to 12psi. Hardly slipped a wheel on a dry day. Can't wait to go back and run it again. Gemini Bridges is easy with only one section needing 4wd. Spectacular scenery. We stayed at the Big Horn Lodge. It's reasonable, clean, and near the action. Hope you have a great time.:yup:

I was in Moab a few weeks ago. We did the same trails as Linebacker. We also drove long canyon trail. A lot of the trails in Moab are stock friendly. Have fun! Here's a pic from long canyon. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1438227792.355613.jpg

You can't go to Moab and not do hells revenge. It is what Moab is all about. Totally fine for a stock vehicle.

When I was there I did fins and things. My jeep is basically stock. Leveling kit on stock size tires. No lockers needed for me and it was fun.

Pic from fins and things.
Also did onion creek. That was is way easy but get very muddy after a rain storm, plus you get to cross the creek like 20 something times. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1438381210.865794.jpg
This is at the top of onion creek.

And going through the canyon.
I also did top of the world. I wouldn't recommend that in a stock vehicle though. I high centered near the end. Couldn't get any further. Anyways you'll have fun on whatever you decide to do.

run Gemini Bridges out to 313 - take 313 to dead horse point state park - take 313 back out and do Long Canyon Trail to 279. Run 279 back into town. Spectacular views.

Just arrived. Unloaded everything into the hotel room. Planning on hitting trails first thing in morning. Will post pics if not too worn out at the end of the day.

We went out to tower arch and then took the back way to Spring Canyon road. Camping along there towards the end near the highway
