I bought the kid a Jeep (2004 Rubicon) and he is chomping at the bit to start the upgrades. I want to get the Goodyear MT/R stock size tires off for general drivability reasons and to maybe upsize. Stock are 245/75-16 and he wanted to go 33" but a few threads down says auto trans drivability and 33" tires w/ stock gearing is not a good match.

I started looking at 265/75-16 witch is close to a 32 with something like a KO2 or Duratrac (or similar), but then also considered JK Rubi rims with spacers/converter and stock BFG 255/70-17 which are 32.

Since I also have a jeep the budget is also a concern. This is his long term daily driver and road manners are my primary concern. Will probably do a 2-2.5 lift to accommodate the larger tires but not sure which to choose.

SO...what wheel tire combo and what lift?
