My JK, and one of my other toys.....

One of my hobbies is operating a couple of retired RAAF DHC-4 Caribous through the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society.
We were down in country town Tuesday and Wednesday filming a commercial for a new car.
Had to take my tools out to fix something and thought I'd get a shot of the JK and the Caribou together. :) its kind of like a JK with wings...it'll go just about anywhere, and it always surprises people. :)

The Royal Australian Air Force operated two squadrons of DHC-4 Caribou aircraft from the 60's until 2009. They differed slightly from the US Army versions in that ours did not have weather radar...hence the shorter nose.
Our two surviving examples are both Vietnam veterans (sporting the usual bullet hole repairs here and there). Engines are Pratt & Whitney R2000-7M2 supercharged 14 cylinder radials producing 1450HP.

Pic of me doing a refuel in the 80's....

I've gotten older, and fatter....damn...how did that happen?
