On Thurs night we installed the Maximus 3 stinger on the factory front Hard Rock bumper the directions for this install lacked just a little bit of detail. We then proceeded to install AEV'S rear tire carrier on the factory rear bumper. This had to wait until Fri evening to be finished. The tire carrier install was pretty straight forward the only thing was that you have to remove the bumper, install the carrier and then remove it to reinstall the bumper. Now what to do about a third brake light?

I'm running the same setup as you on my HR. I used the Rock Hard license plate relocation kit and ORO LiteDOT.

Looking at trying to use the factory brake light for now since funds are low and it will just lay on a shelf in the garage if I don't but thanks for the info Speedy_RCW I will check it out and keep it in mind.

I suppose you could cut the factory one off, use a couple L brackets to the torx screws on the back of the housing and mount it to the top of your AEV carrier. I'm sure that kind of thing has been done at some point. Google probably knows the answer to this.

Relocated the shock reservoirs yesterday, the directions left it up to you where to install them. The brackets that they sent with the kit we're not the same as what were pictured in the directions and the video. So as luck would have it where I chose to mount them was in conflict with the 35 inch tire on the passenger side when the steering was turned full. Relocated them to the top of the frame rail now everything seems to be clear.

You're not far at all from Uwharrie. I think there's still some time to take her out before they close up for the winter.

Only 55 miles on the odometer gonna put a few highway miles on it first to settle the suspension components but she will definitely be there in the spring! ☺

Finally settled on an idea for the third brake light I used a piece of 2"×2"×1/8" angle iron (2) 2 1/2" stainless steel u bolts and (2) 10-24 stainless steel bolts with nylon lock nuts. I primed and painted the angle with a textured black paint, and extended the wiring. I also installed a 1" grommet in the angle for the wiring to pass through and this is what I ended up with.

Looking good!

What do think of that Maximus 3 Stinger? Do you feel it's functional? Or just for show? Reason I ask is I just got a Rubi HR myself and wouldn't mind hanging on to at least the front bumper for a while.

Came out good.

Thnx i Wish it was more centered though (I am O.C.D. when it comes to stuff like that) but the AEV tire carrier is offset 6" to the passengers side of the jeep. I guess that is so when you go to 40's you can still grab the handle. I shifted the brake light toward the drivers side a little but it is still like 4 1/2" off center, I didn't want to hang it out to far and have it vibrating constantly.

Looking great man!

I just did my EVO tire carrier and I needed to come up for a place for my 3rd brake light. I made a couple aluminum brackets in my vise and put a couple red eagle eyes on them and mounted one on each side inside the rear glass. Came out pretty good. I am organizing my build thread and will post up pics over the weekend but here's what they ended up looking like when done:

dammit - wrong pic - here;s the one I meant to attach. There's one on each side so you can at least see one of them regardless of where you are behind me.

Strictly for show imo you might be able to fabricate some better brackets with longer bolts and even throw in a few welds and make it functional but I wouldn't recommend winching on it. As you can see in the pics the three factory bolts indicated by the blue arrows thread into the provided bracket, the one factory bolt indicated by the red arrow screws into the factory keeper nut. The bracket is 2 pieces bolted together by 2 allen screws and the lower half of the bracket is secured to the frame through a large hole with one bolt a flat washer and a nut.
