Yeah, now that Summer is almost here I'm gonna start trying out more varieties. LOL - don't laugh too hard if I post up some stinkers!

And with dinner we popped an awesome JDusi 2012 Zin. One of Paso's finest zin growers. Bold, peppery but still just the right levels of fruits. So tasty, I should have bought more.

Had this with dinner the other night...Savage Grace...check it out if you can find it. It's a fairly new winery in WA...completely cabernet franc varietal, which normally is used in blended reds (Bordeaux style)...lower in alcohol (translation...you can drink a shit load), and pairs with just about everything. It's reasonably priced, and we really enjoyed it...

Some Santa Barbara Oreana Verdelho. A great white wine to have with a cheese tray and some grilled chicken.

This Mufasa is made from Pinotage grapes grown in Africa and imported here where RCW processed. [emoji485][emoji485][emoji485]Cant grow food over there, but good grapes! [emoji23][emoji106]

That's a grape I've never heard of...is it similar to a pinot noir?...it looks a lot darker than a pinot...

Had this the other night...from the Valtellina area of Italy...Rosso di Valtellina. Completely nebbiolo grapes, it's a wine you can drink young...

Yes, darker than most pinots. But surprisingly not overpowering and still very smooth. Good fruit, not overly sweet and little pepper. I'd put it somewhere with a zin/Malbec/Pinot. Probably why I liked it. Wife not as much as she doesn't like a pepper finish. All pallets are different, and this was very unique grape and had to buy a bottle after tasting it.

Pretty cool to be able to spend the day with my grandma and my kids great grandma on her 86th birthday. And awesome day with family and a great dinner where I enjoyed a seldom seen French Malbec..
