I'm investigating the rock crawling potential in the Abiquiu New Mexico area and in the Carson National Forest more generally. I know that rock crawling in this area has been done in the past and expect there are a lot of potential trails around that would be challenging. I've been in contact with some folks in the Forest Service and with 4X4 folks and organizations to see what might be done to add these trails to an MVUM or to access them through a Special Use Permit. I'll continue the research into the methods that might lead to authorization to travel routes of interest but would appreciate it if any of you Wayalifers living in the area have a perspective on where in that area I might find the kind of terrain we need for rock crawling and any history of doing so that they may have.
