SERVICE ENGINE - Taking Our Renegade into the Dealership

Since getting our Jeep Renegade Trailhawk a little over a year ago, Cindy and I haven't had a reason to take it into the dealership and if anything, had been avoiding it even though we knew there were flashes available that might help it along. Unfortunately, a "SERVICE ENGINE" warning has recently illuminated on our dash and while we normally wouldn't give it too much thought, we've found that it is impossible to shift or "lock" in the 4WD system when this warning light is on. Needless to say, we finally broke down and made an appointment to drop off our Renegade at our local Jeep dealership. In addition to giving the check engine light a look, we were told that they would also update the computer with 10 separate flashes as well. Anyway, here's a shot of us dropping off Renny - here's hoping they're able to actually fix things and with any luck, make things better as opposed to making things worse and sticking us with a bill.

WooHoo!! Just picked up our Renegade and it looks like all the flash updates were done and our "service engine" problem fixed under warranty.

So, after doing a scan, the dealership found that we had a P0113 code come up and upon further inspection, they discovered a loose connection at the Intake Air Temp Sensor. This is odd because I could have sworn that initially, the problem was with a speed sensor and that would have made a lot more sense given the problems we were having. That said, they replaced the sensor, cleared the codes, did a test drive and found no other problems.

The following Flash Updates were also performed and maybe they helped things as well:
1. Flash 1 - DTCM : Software 01030003002-RELS7P100000-0002-0003
2. Flash 2 - BCM : Software 284607010808-285186666
3. Flash 9 - IPC : Software 04003013730-37470587
4. Flash 8 - HVAC : Software 838077-03-0000-2415
5. Flash 7 - RFH : Software 91132400AA-40617925AA
6. Flash 6 - ABS : Software 17614B7C-6201JX8801
7. Flash 5 - EPS : Software 0003DA50-0001
8. Flash 4 - ESM : Software FGA221HW03-FGA221SW0730
9. Flash 3 - PCM : Software 68240754AE-AH
10. Flash 10 - TCM : Software 68257269AC-AD
11. Flash 11 - ECU : RRT - Enhancement Flash

Glad you were able to everything all fixed up and a few extra flashes at the same time. [emoji106]

You notice any differences....aside from being able to go into 4wd. [emoji6]

Yeah, the electronic parking brake automatically engages any time I shift into park - annoying as hell. I think this is a flash in part due to checkoff getting killed by his grand Cherokee. Also, it seems more sluggish off the line. There's no weird shift anymore but it feels slower. That's all I could tell off the bat.

Sounds like a successful and problem free dealership experience, which is pretty rare these days.

Yeah, surprisingly it went well. I was suspicious when they say there was going to be a $117 charge until they could determine whether or not it would be covered under warranty but, it all worked out.

Should be able to turn that feature off in the Uconnect settings I think? Do some looking around in the menus.

I read this post today , and after going to my Doctor appointment I told my wife it was time to take her Renegade in for its 1st oil change. There was 15 software updates that needed to be installed. After 2 hours they said I'd have to being it back, because the Comcast Internet system was down in Oregon . So they will install on it's next oil change . (2016 Renegade 4858 miles bought in February)
