I haven't posted any pics of my 74 so I figured I'd start a thread with a few things I have done so far and then will continue when I finally tear it down to the frame for a complete resto.

Before I got stationed in Kansas I pulled the engine to reseal the top half, replaced the clutch and pressure plate and flushed the fluids. Also powder coated some parts and gave everything just a general cleaning. It was disgustingly grimey. Side note, so Snoopy is currently being kept at my grandparents house is California. I got stationed in Alaska last year and didn't think taking the CJ up there was a good idea. So for you guys waiting to see more progress it might take a couple years lol. I'm not able to leave Alaska until at least 2018, besides taking leave, schooling or deployment. Just don't want to leave you guys hanging.

Here's a list of some of the mods it has so far. I don't know all the exact details but once I look through the booklets the previous owner kept I will be able to identify them better.

4.2L inline 6
Clifford 6=8 top end with valve cover
Offenhauser intake manifold
Holley 4bbl carb
Camping shower hookups (yes you read that right, this thing has a shower built into it. Takes water in from any source, pulls it through the heater core to heat up then dispenses back out the grill via garden hose hookup.)
4 speed manual trans; granny 1st conversion
33" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ
Custom built center console; concealing CB radio and stereo
Custom built spare tire carrier with cooler shelf and 2 Jerry can holders
Custom built canoe rack; mounts to front bumper and tire carrier, also came with canoe
Dual battery tray
On board air compressor
2 1/2" rough country suspension lift
1" body lift
Custom built trailer with spare tire carrier on it also
Rear corner armor
Bikini top with half doors
2 full soft tops with 1 set of doors
Warn winch
KC lights up front
KC lights mounted in rear bumper
Also have all original engine parts to convert back to original 1bbl system

I hear ya Eddie. I'm just itching to do a complete frame off resto. But I feel the waitign will help build the funds and draw up some more ideas. I plan to keep it as original as I can besides what's already been modded. Prolly going to put in a new suspension tho, but will keep it at the 3-1/2" lift that it has now. Maybe repaint, not sure if I want to keep the color or change it. I do like the sunburnt orange aka rust color tho haha.

You should post some pics on how you did the shower system. That sounds really cool. Does the water circulate around the heater core or what?

The shower system was done by the previous owner. I will look through the photos I have and see if I can find some good ones for reference. As far as I know the water passes through the heater core in a separate system to not contaminate it with coolant.

Nice thread. Seem to be a lot of CJ's popping up lately. Looking forward for more posts when you get the chance.

WJCO if you look at the top left of this photo you can see the garden hoses that are coming from the grill, the top hose goes to a tank mounted on the inside of the wheel well and the bottom goes to that orange cylinder. That cylinder is the "heater core". The disconnected hose attaches to the water pump and allows coolant to flow through a separate part of the core heating up the water. In this picture you can see where that "heater core" attaches to the water pump on the left. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1474654006.988654.jpg
This picture shows where the hook ups are underneath the passenger side turn signal.
I've never had to opportunity to actually use the shower but the previous owner said it was amazing on camping and multiple day trail trips.

That's pretty cool.

Oh yea. I was blown away when he was telling me about it. Granted I was about 16 and this was the first jeep I had ever had the pleasure of owning. Whenever I tell people it has a shower they think I'm lying until I show them the system.
If I remember correctly that tank the top hose runs to actually has a pump in it and one of the toggle switches on the dash turns it on so you don't have to have the jeep running. Im assuming that's one way to control the water temp. There's also a knob on the heater core itself to open and close the coolant side passage to control the water temp also. Less hot coolant= not skin scolding water. Lol
