Transmission Error P0700

First check the ATF, inspecting to determine if the error might be related to dirty fluid or incorrect fluid level.

Then inspect and test the wires and plug-ins going to the NSS.

The TRS (NSS) cable plug-ins sometime become corroded and the pins get pushed in or bent over.

It's possibly the error code is related to the TCM and it's connections, such as TCM grounding, etc.

This particular trouble code will set if the PCM doesn't receive input. So the TRS (NSS) can be ok but if the TCM isn't able to send data to the PCM, this code will set.

Possibly something interfering with the CCD databus e.g. the PCM may poll a module on the ccd buss and if it doesn't receive an ACK (acknowledgement) within a certain amount of time an error code will set.

Also codes related to the transmission will set if the PCM receives mixed (unlogical) signals. The TRS (NSS) is comprised of switches that open and close depending on the position of the transmission lever. The switch connections (how the switches are positioned opened or closed) sends logic information to the TCM that relays the logic to the PCM. If the logic signals become mixed and don't make sense to the PCM, the PCM will set a DTC error code.
