I had the exact same thought.
Unique strategy. Not sure how well it'd work in the real world. Seems like an easy target. I'd rather repel from the roof.

The guys holding the pole would be easy targets. And the wait time for a second team member to assist the first guy to go up would be a long time if a firefight breaks out. At least, that's my thought in my very limited knowledge of that stuff.
