If its a Jeep and modified the waves generally happen for me. As lil nasty said, if its a grocery getter most dont wave. Thats been my experience in the Reno area anyway. I get the occasional my Jeeps better than yours look at the light also. Big f'n deal. Mines not meant to be pretty.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned. It has been three days since my last wave...

It is neigh inexcusable on a country road with little traffic. But since I moved to a big city, The road dividers and crazy drivers, and tight streets distract me. Pair that with the large disparity against soccer-moms and Yuppies, I miss a few here and there.

It truly hurts when I look over and see a jeep hand left hanging. Forgive me Jeep gods!

Edit: Wow, big thread revival u/jeepinmilton. dude, you're doing this all over the site.

I used to do the wave but gave it up. There's so many Wranglers on the road I was starting to feel like I was in a parade. Most of the Jeeps I see never go off-road and have no clue what the wave is about anyway.

Trying to get some life back into the fun stuff. Glad it is working.

Jeep wave

Why is it you can only do the jeep wave if you have a wrangler/JK?? Or is it that I can only wave to other Cherokee's because that's what I drive??? I'm confused.

I never get a wave in Brooklyn but when I travel upstate New York or recently just went to Foxwoods casino in Connecticut with my gf and everyone waved at us.
Sometimes I don't wave but flash my brights in acknowledgement if we are passing a few lanes away from eachother and a wave would be difficult to see especially at speed.
Hope that's sufficient. [emoji106]

I try to wave at all of the wranglers I see. Unfortunately, only about 1/4 are returned, usually by those driving older or modded jeeps.

Ok, this is not quite the same but the only waves I get in Brooklyn are from people waiting in bus stops as I'm driving my nyct bus.
After driving my New York City Transit bus all day, I go back to my Jeep to go home. As I'm driving home I start to veer into the bus stop coming up and then realize I'm in my Jeep and straighten out.
I never get waves in my Jeep from other Jeepers in Brooklyn. I still wave though

Got my first Jeep, a 2017 jku, Dec 30. I have waved about 30 times at every Jeep I see. I have had 2 waves back no. Doesn't stop me. I will always wave.

I don't daily drive my Jeep so sometimes my wife busts me when I miss a wave negotiating traffic or just plain zoning out, then she calls me a renter. We refer to the non wavers as rental Jeep drivers. I just took the Jeep on a 2500 mile road trip and at best half my waves were returned. The worst area was West Virginia, the best was NC in the OBX. Now for the next couple of days when I'm driving the truck again I will be waving at Jeeps.

I agree with you on this, Almost everyone in OBX will return a wave. Sometime back on my bicycle ride, I've waved at the Jeeper :cheesy: Wife asked me if I knew that fella
