Back in a jk

Caught the Bug
Whelp im back, some of u may remember me! Technically I've got 2 projects, cj5 and now a jk:) ill keep this to the jk and maybe make a cj5 build thread. some will even know the jk i have acquired, bonus points imo! Shes basically a time capsule of 12yrs ago lol, I donated some parts and helped source mostly used parts for my then, sister in law. It survived all these years, doing trail work here and there, to hit 115k miles with very little mods after those installed all those years ago. After multiple overheating issues that mutiple shops couldnt resolve and all the other maintenance pilling up, Tracy reached out to me with an offer to take the jeep that I couldn't turn down. I haven't yet solidied a name for her just yet, im mulling over a couple things and maybe once I settle on one the thread name can be changed? ( lol I dunno if that's a thing, hope so tho) well anyways, pictures right!
Here is how she arrived to me in San Diego, from Nevada.

As of now, i.think I've resolved the overheating. The oil cooler that was apparently replaced multiple times was definitely bad! I replaced it with the doorman aluminum one. It does have the awesome pentastar tick going on, so yea i know the lifters and rockers need to be changed sooner rather than later, I just wanna verify there isn't a head gasket issue before I tackle that.

As she sits rn, I replaced the stock cut fenders as some were ripped and they flapped like crazy. I also bought some cheap items to resolve other issues temporarily and will update those things as needed:) rn, aside from the engine needing the tick addressed, she needs new tires... I would love 37s, but still stock d30 upfront:( I had found a rubi d44 for a reasonable price, but someone beat me to it. Currently stuck 😪

Here ill post a vid i made from ejs 2013, riding along in this jeep

As a disclaimer, i do not make any money off my YouTube channel, so im not posting this for click views. Literally this jeep was straight off the lot with only a few mods, my jeep was supposed to go also, but was broken 😢 we still had a great time hanging out with everyone for 2 days and im posting it as a flash back to 2013!

Gotcha nice, I’m in Del Mar/Carmel Valley. I see them from time to time pop up on FB marketplace anywhere below the 52.
Well if u see one soon lmk! I've been on it searching the last couple weeks, nothing in that time 😞 I dont mind a bit of a drive either, just i dont have 10k to drop 😅 maybe more like 5 on a good set :)

I would still like to thank Eddie and Cindy for inviting us on that run, yes it was along time ago, but man, still a awesome time wheeling! def one of the best ive had! hanging out with @mcpuck and @Trail Bud at the after party, great times that i will never forget!

Its kinda weird, in general i always liked either driving or riding in a 2 door, i had the 4 door when the kids where real young... my oldest was like 5 when i had to sell it and about 1yr old when i got it... so many memories:) they love riding in the cj now, as pretty much teenagers (2 boys, vey close in age), they both remeber this jeep also. its gonna be really great to get back out on the trail here with them:)
