Question About Brake Lock Differential

BLD is standard to all JK's isn't it? I was at Gold Mtn a couple weeks ago with one of my buddies and he said I would never make it without lockers. I told him about the BLD and a pretty heated discussion ensued. Ended up finishing the trail without too much of a struggle(mostly battling lack of clearance).

It works kind of the same way your ABS does. If one tire is spinning faster than the other, the computer applies brake to the spinning tire. When both tires receive equal resistance you get power to the tire that wasn't spinning. It's kind of an LSD but instead of happening in the diff it happens in the brake. The draw back is loss of power but it is an advantage over an open diff without it.

I've seen it work on the trail. When a wheel is in the air you see it kind of stutter instead of spin.
