Clutch Slave Cylinder

I need some advice. I had to bleed my clutch and I am trying to put it back together. When I put the slave cylinder back on the pedal will not press in. I think what is happening is that the pushrod is catching against the lip inside the bell housing and not letting the clutch operate. Any ideas how I can get it back together and make sure the pushrod is going in without having to keep taking it back off. The clutch is working fine when I dont have the slave bolted down.It is an 85 CJ7 2.5L

Figured it out. The pushrod was sliding off the fork and not engaging. One of those things where I needed three hands.
