ATX Slab question

I just got my slabs from brown Santa. I want to paint or powder coat the rings black. Any suggestions or tips if I spray paint them? Do I need to use an etching primer? Anyone done this, or should I get them powder coated. Thanks for the help.

I'd probably just rattle can them with a matching satin black. You will have to touch them up often so you might as well do it with something inexpensive and easy.

X2! Powder coating would is expensive for how long it lasts.

I painted mine with VHT Satin Black wheel paint, it matches perfect. For prep I just sanded the rings 220 grit and then wiped them down with acetone before paint.

Don't powder coat. I used VHT satin black wheel paint. It matches perfectly. You can prime them but I wouldn't put too much effort into it. They get scuffed up on rocks anyway

Awesome guys. Thanks for the help. O'Reilly has the VHT spray paint. I will pick some up.
