5.13 Gears - Which Brand?

I recently upgraded to Maxxis Treps 37 and ATX Beadlocks.
Tackled the Rubicon w/ 4.10s (no issues at all) and street driving seems to be ok, but after reading Eddie's post, I'm definitely sold on 5.13s.

Which gear brands do you recommend?
Once installed, how long is the break in period and how soon do I have to change the diff oil again?

I'll have a local shop do the install (quoted $1,150 out the door - includes gears, but not sure which brand).
If I lived closer to EVO, I'd be all over the $999 special (EVO - please open a shop in NorCal!).

thanks,

I've asked the same exact question. I bought my gears through Northridge 4x4 ang got Yukon with the master overhaul kit front and rear. Just make sure they are doing that with your rig. Other than that its a good price. Oh to answer your question.........There made by all the same company no matter if you go with Yukon, G2 and whatever helse you bring up.

As far as the break in time, if the shop stands behind their work, do whatever they say.

It is WELL WORTH your time to call Off Road Evolution, drive down to Fullerton, CA, and have them do your gear changes - package deal - both ends, gear ratio of your choice, with labor and parts - $1000 - best deal in the UNIVERSE!

Yup, $999 for the parts and labor. Truly hard to beat.

For anyone in Washington. Northridge 4x4 does the same thing. 1000 out the door. Your choice on ratio. :D

Sent from my SPH-L720 using WAYALIFE mobile app

Not anymore:naw:... Their price went up to 1200 as of 10/16/13. I just had them do my D30 and D44 with 5.13 and installed an ARB at the rear. Tack on a couple of diff covers and I walked out of there 2789.00 poorer. They did/do great work although costly, I am very pleased!

With gas prices these days, he'll spend almost $200 in gas to get from Nor Cal to So Cal. No savings after that drive.
