To tow or trailer

Hi, I am from West Virginia and we are going to take a family vacation this summer and drive across country and do the rubicon trail in July. I just can't decide weather we should pull the jeep or drive it. I would love to drive it, just because it is awesome to drive and it would be nice to travel light. But on the other hand.... I'm not even going to say it. I would love to get some input to help me decide.

So, what did you decide? (I would drive it)

What do you have for tow vehicle? Are you going to trailer or flat tow the Jeep?

I know this is an old thread. But I have wondered the same. Anyone ever considered driving their jeep and if should something happen on the trail and repairs weren't possible to just rent a u-haul truck and trailer to bring it back. Hell, it might be ridiculous thought but just wondering if anyone had ever done similar? :crazyeyes:
