Went to a local Cooper Tires dealer, ST MAXX more expensive ha STT, WTF??

Went to a local Cooper Tires distributor here, I asked for the prices of the 285/70/17 ST MAXX and the 295/70/17 STT

$385 for the ST MAXX and $256 for the STT, it took my by surprise, why is the MAXX $100 more expensive, I get that it's a newer tire but they are both E Rated, and they are pretty much the same tech so I really don't get that much of a price difference

I just did a quick on-line search and both tires are about the same price everywhere. $250 - 260.00.

Your local shop must really not want to sell the ST MAXX !?

Thanks, I figured as much, but wanted to confirmed that was the case. I'll try to see if I can get them to bring down that price as I'm really interested in the MAXX's because this is my Daily Driver.
