Pivot points under JK hood

Was hooking up a battery disconnect to my Spod to run a Viair portable air compressor and saw these?? Any ideas what they are for?? my disconnect

X2, guessing you should see some evidence of the where the struts were mounted to the hood on both sides.

What they said and it's a good thing they've been removed. Struts like these are notorious for bending the weak hinges and pushing the hood forward.

Yup. My hinges were bent within hours of me putting my struts on. But it makes putting my hood up easy. :crazyeyes:

Why would anyone want to disable the ability to flip their hood back against their windshield?!?!

The strut pops off that pivot joint very easily. It won't really stop you from flipping it all the way back.
