Ok I'm trying to replace my leaky rear pinion seal and can't seem to get the flange nut loose. Is there something i need to do before loosening it?

Are you talking about that big, 1.5" nut?

Didn't know if it was safe to use an impact on. Had a 2foot cheater on it and it wouldn't budge

Haha, its 150 ft pounds. I had a bit of a time using a foot long torque wrench. But years of heavy bench and shoulder press paid off.

While you can use an impact to remove it, just remember that there is a crush bearing that you want to be careful of when you put it back on. Use a torque wrench to put it back on and tighten it.
