Spurious emission on 146.400

I run a ham radio and our simplex channel for the weekend was 146.400 MHz

Apparently my 2013 JK transmits or somehow causes interference in or around this frequency. Boosting squelch on my HT didn't seem to help much.

It seems to be an issue particularly when I open the doors.

Any thoughts what might be causing this? Steering wheel lock motor/actuator thing maybe? I get weird frequent emission driving down the road too though.

If you have a spectrum analyzer you can check what the freq it is. It might be a multiple 146.400.

Ahh, so harmonic or something? Good point. Will have to see if someone has one available.

I remember when I was a kid, I had a little motor that when powered by a battery would knock out FM radio in an entire restaurant.
