After dealing with front axle shaft fitment issue I thought I'd share my findings and hope it helps some of you from the same trouble...especially if you are carrying a spare for the trail
Part# 5004891 casting number SPR 199 is an older now discontinued u joint and often get relabeled with the current part #5-7166x but the bottom of the box will be stamped 5004891, these have a larger center body and caused fitment issues with the newer JK's 2007+
Part# 5-7166X casting number SPR 5182 is the current u joint with the slightly thinner center and will fit all JK's with no fitment issues - 5-7166X will be the only number stamped on the box.
Chrysler part# 68017182AA may show as discontinued but you may still find some of the older u joints at your dealer
I know you can grind off just enough material from the axle shaft to get the older joints to fit but as soon as you do the warranty is voided ..they don't give those axle shafts away!
