Alright so I've got a 96 cherokee xj, 4.0 AW4, 231, HP D30 in the front, and 8.25 in the rear. The first phase of this build up is a budget boost and lots of trimming to fit my near new 31's from [my samurai on it.

Phase 1..
2" day star pucks and AAL in the rear.

Installed the front 2/17/14
Doing the rear this weekend and then breaking out the die grinder and doing som trimming. I'll need shocks as well as quick disconnects.(I broke the factory sway bar end).

Some poser flex with the stock tires.

Question, what brand shocks should I look at? Under 50$ a piece. For now anyways, and should I get the post eliminates or go with a shock with a post on one end? I plan on gettin the rusty quick disconnect just because they go from 2"-8.5". Any input is welcome and appreciated.

Shocks

Hi Chris

I would recommend you A: Skyjacker Nitrocharger Shocks (e.g. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16016_104.htm / and the front one of course too) or the Rubicon Express Twin Tube Shock ( e.g. http://www.quadratec.com/products/16300_82X_A_PG.htm)
My buddy has te Rubicon Express shocks in his XJ and I've the Skyjacker Shocks. We are both very happy with our shocks.

And I would take the TeraFlex Front Swaybar Quick Disconnects (http://www.quadratec.com/products/76191_601.htm)

Good luck with the build of your XJ

Best Regards from Switzerland

Samuel

Great kit but it has been a total PITA to install. (Jeeps fault) everything I need to install is fighting me the hole way.

oh man that is never fun. I have the Zone Offroad 4.5" full leaf kit to install when I get home on leave and I'm sure it will be a "fun" time...lol

Looks like its Coming along pretty well! I'm In the process of Saving money up to start upgrading my XJ and was curious if there any particular reason you went with a rough country LA kit rather than like rusty's, taraflex, or any others?

I was going to get a rustys kit but shipping was going to be something like 400$. Adams driveshaft and offroad had a deal on the long arm kit, SYE, and driveshaft for 1800. So that was the main reason.

Some backyard testing. It drives weird, getting it aligned tomorrow so we'll see what they say about it.

Went up for a drive a few weeks ago, no action shots really except for a "poser" shot.
