Alright everyone! I've had my Wrangler Unlimited Sahara for about 6 months now and the time has come to lift it! The current plan is a 3" lift with 35" tires. But I'm curious on wheels. What size wheels do it get? I like the look of the smaller wheel on the big tire... I just like the aggressive meaty look I guess. But is there a functional difference between the different wheel sizes? I would really just like to see pictures of different jeeps with different lift and tire sizes! Thanks!

I went from the stock sahara rims (18") to 17s for a few reasons. First, it's functional. The more sidewall you have, the more distance between your tread and your rim, so you can air down without worry. Consequently, the less sidewall you have, the less sidewall flex you get while cornering, so thats why low profile tires are popular with the sport car crowd. Second, I like the look. More sidewall simply looks awesome. Third, its more cost efficient. Tires get cheaper as the rim size goes down.

I went with a 2.5" Rock Krawler max flex kit, Bilstein 5100s, 17" Fuel Trophy wheels, and 35" Nitto Trail Grapplers. Love this combo. It looks great, but more importantly, its great on the road and on the trail.

I went with 15x10 Fuel Revolver wheels on 33x13.50 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. I absolutely love the look and performance, though, I would have certainly gone with a slightly larger wheel diameter if I were planning on running anything bigger than a 33" tire.

I think a 17" wheel would be perfect for someone running 35"/+ tires. Not only will that size give you the most options to choose from when buying, but they'll also give you the best performance on and off the pavement.

Here is mine now. My 15" wheels on 33" tires will give you an idea of what 17" wheels on 35" tires will look like. The proportion will be the same, yours will just be 2" taller.

Here's 35" with a 2.5" lift and 1" body lift. I'm on 16" rims.
