EVO rear bolt on D-ring question

So my EVO bolt on D-ring brackets do not fit flush in the frame. I know several people trim the frame and I may do that. Has anyone cut the frame down and then welded it to the mounts. I am thinking of welding it but wondering if there are any reasons why I would not want to. Thanks.

I would still bolt it in and THEN weld it in. No reason not to weld it except for difficulty to remove later if you choose to return to a bumper instead of bumperless
