I am considering purchasing an off road trailer.

Can anyone suggest a good trailer with a tent space for two with the ability to carry fuel, a spare tire etc .

If I could afford one, I would consider one of these:

M416's are a great way to start. They were intended for jeeps and can be modified to accept tents.

I've been eyeing the Johnson Furnace Company, M105A2, 1 1/2 ton or similar military trailers. There's government auctions of these things all the time, they start at $150 and seem to go for about that...
Worth looking into at least =)

Only problem is the M105A2 is large and weighs about 2600 lbs. empty. That means you are only 900 lbs from the tow capacity of a JK.

There are currently 4 @ M416 Military Trailers on Ebay, one as low as $99 no reserve.

I wouldn't mind getting a trailer, I just have no proper area to store it. Maybe some day soon.

Merlin, I've seen them in government liquidators, but I have a hard time figuring them out. Where do you see them at auction?

I just bought the Knapkeida utility box to start the build. It has a slide able locking bed and six compartments. It's pretty sound. It also has the fuel port and I have a fuel tank I want to mount. Now I need to find a frame or weld a frame together. I have the tires and old suspension from my jeep I'm going to try and incorporate. I'm a but nervous....

In case you drive an JK X model,
One thing to have in mind: Gear Ratio 3:73 at least and proper tire size!

Cheers and good luck in choosing your chaser!

Has anyone ever heard of these guys? I found it one day on Google while going through pictures of what I would like, one day. www.tentrax.com. I thought with the right amount of money, this would be great. But with the right amount of money, anything can be had.

I know, its, not the greatest photo but the top opens up as well as the back it has ac and dc outlets solar panels that trickle charge 6v deep cycle batteries. Also has a lay down fridge inside top rails that connect to the quick tent. . Large water or gas can space on front as well as a co2 tank. . They have even done them with a built in tap and quarter keg. . This ones pretty delux but you could start out basic and grow upon your needs
