HELP! my locker hit the pinion at some point

I just preformed the recommended 500 mile fluid change on the new gears and locker installed in my jk. everything came off smoth, fluid looked wasnt as bad as i thought and no chips. however, we ran into an issue ive found literally nothing about and i have no idea where to point the finger as it looks as though the pinion hit my locker carrier . were thinking it hit somewhere within the first mile or so as its not really that deep, but is very bothersome. was it the installer? bad master overhaul kit? wrong sized locker? im confused. help is appreciated

Check the pinion nut! I have seen this kind of contact from loose pinion nut, or pinion bearings that have gone bad. This is usually an install issue...

I noticed three marks like that on mine. Must have happened when the ring gear was installed. At least that's what I'm thinking.
