Moving to Oahu

Moving to Hawaii later this year and came to check for tips any of you may have about the state inspection laws.

What I am tracking so far is an alignment no more than 30 days prior to the inspection (with receipt), fender extensions to cover the tires completely, and mud flaps.

Any info is appreciated.

Howzit,
The laws are getting very strict with modified vehicles. I attached a link to the .gov site with some info on regulations and other useful facts. It used to be easy to get a recon sticker for small mods, but now those days are gone. They actually taking pics of your vehicle at the time of inspection and upload them into Hawaii's database, then use that to compare any changes at your next inspection. I'm not saying it's impossible to get a recon or safety inspection on a modified vehicle, it's just getting harder. Be ready to add flare extensions if your tires stick out, mud flaps, etc.
Pomaika`i (good luck)
