Hard top Defrost

I realize a lot of people here run the soft top. But I'm still looking for a fix regardless. So problem:

I had my hard top put on but the defrost doesn't work. The wiper and washer fluid squirted both work. If I hold the button down for the defrost the lift comes on, but as soon as you release your finger from the button he light goes out. Also regardless of you holding the button or not the defrost doesn't work. I checked the fuse and wire continuity but no good. Any ideas?

You should research the wiring diagram to find out what pins in the connecter correspond to the rear window defrost. It could be that the pin is recessed or bent and is not making a good connection. Just an idea, don't know if you have checked already.
Maybe check the associated relay, if there is one.

I'm going to tear into it again probably tomorrow. I'm hoping someone might know a common issue or something.

I found this diagram. It's labeled hard top connector. Maybe it will help. I don't have a hard top so this is all I can do.
