Wanted to share these pics of my Wife's Grandfather @Dickdahn out at the old Riverside Raceway. He was a multiple Baja 500 and 1000 winner. Also he was on Team USA back in the Earlier 70's the went from London to Sydney and won! Also built all the Mickey Thompson tracks! He was a great man!

More Jeep archives from my wife's grandfather! The coloring book was his jeep that he raced all across Europe in. Finish line was in Sydney. The the registration form is for the 1977 Baja 1000km.

Hey guys...1977 was NOT that long ago!!
I remember watching all the SCCA, and Formula cars, as well as all the Can-Am races.
My YOUNGEST son was born in Sunnymeade, and that is where the mall is now, and the track used to be. I was at March AFB, and
it is now a TAC base, then it was a SAC base with constant B-52's, and KC-135's going all the time.

I went watch to races there as a kid.

We passed by many times while they were racing, you could see sections of the road course from the 60. I'd watch as best I could as we passed, but never could talk my parents into stopping to check it out or watch. By the time I was old enough to get myself there, it was already in demo.
