Random story from today. Had this bad squeaking in my tj. Like a bearing going out. It sounded like it was from the front
I spent 3 hours pulling my whole front axle apart thinking it was a unit bearing, ujoint, or carrier bearing going out. Took everything apart and all was good.
I then took a rear wheel off and slid off the drum to find half of what used to be a bolt jammed between the pad and drum...
Apparently the guys that just did my regear forgot to put on a bolt from the bearing retainer plate. Problem solved.
This concludes the story of my long, oily, hot night. Don't take that the wrong way.
