Hello all! I just wanted some support on my latest two mistakes that both happend in the last week. Please feel free to post similar accidents of just make fun of me. I have managed to dent both driver and passenger side cowl panels. Yes, I think I am an idiot. Yes, I know they make the door limit straps for a reason. Yes, I know they make Cowl armor.. and are they worth the money?...in my case...yes. Pure stupidity. Please let me know I am not the only one to do this...Tell your stories or let's make fun of each other.:banghead:

I brought my brand new JK home on a Saturday about 2:00 pm, by 4:00 pm I had "the dent" on the drivers side.

I got it out almost completely by pushing on it with a piece of steel bar from behind. Now it has a little sticker covering what's left.

Almost gone.

There are professional dent pop guys out there that can get these out for well under a $100.

If you think it is worth it then just google pop a dent in you area and I bet you will find a ton of them.

You will never know it was ever there, I have seen some of these guys do amazing things.

I modded mine with the simple dimple mod, added 15% hp and increased my mpg
Don't let it bother you, there's way worst that's gonna happen on the trail

I tried the hair dryer/ice cube fix and had total failure. It's sad when you know exactly how it will happen and still can't manage to avoid it.

ding

Did mine on pass. side when it was new also , It would have been pretty easy to put a catch on the part that holds the strap from the factory.

Has anyone seen or tried the "Improved" door replacement straps from Star Fabricating? If so, what are your thoughts?
