C gussets

Hello everyone, I have a question about c gussets. I am in need of gussets and was wondering if I need both upper and lower or is the upper strong enough to keep it from bending both ways?

Northridge has a package deal on the Evo C gussets with the front lower control arm skids. That's what I did.

Yes you need both. Not even sure you can buy then separate.

Oh okay thanks for the quick reply, I was just looking at 4 wheel parts and they had rock krawler uppers but dont have the lowers. That's what sparked the question.

That looks great, did you have to remove the ball joints to weld them in?

It's best to remove them but we did not. We did about 1" at a time and cooled them down while going to the other side.

Debates are endless on effectiveness of axle sleeves and trusses for the rear. A rear rubi D44 is pretty strong, unless you like to bomb through the desert and hit whoops at high speeds.

Actually Dynatrac has laid out exactly how strong an axle with a sleeve is compared to stock and a PR44 in their FAQ. It's up to you to decide if you think it's worth it.

with a sleeve is 1.35 times as strong when compared to the stock housing without a sleeve.

Strength Per Pound Ratio
Note: This metric compares the strength improvement to the weight increase. Obviously, adding strength will
add weight, however, not every pound added leads to the same improvement in strength. Strength is a
combination of material properties and geometry in this case. Adding material to the outside of the axle tube
will result in a greater improvement of strength for the same weight of material added.
Stock JK = 1.0
Stock JK with sleeve = 0.76
Dynatrac Trail Series JK Axle = 1.13
Dynatrac ProRock 44 Standard Axle Tube = 1.43
Dynatrac ProRock 44 Extreme Duty Axle Tube = 1.27

Sleeves won't do anything to keep your axle from bending at the housing.
