Painting a black hard top

I am wondering if anyone out there has painted a black hard top. I am looking at these leftover 14's all with black hardtops and I want white on white. Has anyone attempted to paint one with the factory white gloss? If so, how about any pictures? Thanks

take it to a body and paint shop for best results, mine is still black but my neighbor got his painted silver to match and it looks good.

I don't know how much he paid.

I helped paint the hardtop on a TJ. I cant see that being any different. It just needs to be scuffed and primed then painted. Depending on the cost of paint it should be around $500.

the hole roof would need to be sanded smooth if you want to paint it to match the body, the textured black factory looks good but if you just key the surface and paint over the rough surface the paint will highlight it even more,
white hides a little but you would still need to get it as smooth as possible.
Like one of the others said, go to a panel and paint shop and get them to give you a quote to do the job.
hope this helps
