Aeroforce Interceptor HP truth?

I installed the gauge this weekend. As one of the settings, it measures horsepower. Is there any truth to what this gauge shows? Anyone dyno tested a jeep outfitted with this gauge and compared results?

How would it go about measuring hp?

The guage plugs into your obd2 port and somehow reads off horses. That's why I'm questioning how truthful it is.
