Shock absorber upper mount conversion, any benefits beyond more shock options??

I was reading a copy of Australia 4wd Action and they had an interview with a guy who has a 2008 JK he's been running up and down Australia. Now the Aussies sure know their four wheeling, one thing that caught my eye was the front Upper Shock conversion to loop from the OEM style, I had to do this when on a 2001 WJ I owned because back then no one was making longer OEM style shocks for lifted WJs. Are there any benefits on the JK for this besides some more Shock options???

Nope, not really, you just get more shock options. The Currie lift kit uses a conversion to do this as well.

I Thought so, have a procomp 2.5" lift with Pro comp shocks which are doing pretty good on their own. When these go I plan to go with Bilsteins which I think have OEM type shocks...
