Colorado Front Range Emissions - Good news!

Hey Coloradans! If you haven't heard, there was a recent announcement to the Air Care Colorado program that really is good news for us Jeepers! Emissions test exemptions have been extended for newer vehicles significantly, then on top of that you only have to do an OBD scan for a couple years BEFORE you have to start getting emissions tests...so now it's like 11 years until you have to start doing the dyno.

In case you didn't know, they don't allow over 34" tires on the dyno tests at Air Care Colorado, so this is going to be big for people who wheel newer vehicles. They are also adding more lanes for AWD vehicles which should help speed things up. Good on them for doing something to ease the hassle of emissions in CO.

Just finally did my registration (recently moved from TX to CO) and was actually "guided" by the Clerk to wait until Jan 1 when the new regulations took effect. 7 years before I have to do any testing:)

That was nice of them. I've only had to deal with this once, the last time I lived in Denver, but it's a real pain in the ass. At least I don't have to worry about it for some time now.
